This Privacy Policy describes how GraceVerse (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android and iOS.

Summary: GraceVerse is a Catholic Scripture companion (daily verse, mood matching, chapter reading, widgets). No account is required. Local cache, bookmarks, and preferences stay on your device. Scripture requests go to the GraceVerse API over HTTPS. We do not sell your information or show third-party ads in the current version.
1. Information the App Stores on Your Device
The App may store the following locally on your phone or tablet:

This local data is not synced to a GraceVerse user account (there is no account system in the current version). Uninstalling the App or clearing app data removes it, subject to your OS.
2. Information Sent to the GraceVerse API
The App communicates with our API (currently hosted at graceverse.altairsl.us) over
HTTPS. Depending on what you do, requests may include:

We use this information to answer your request. We do not use it to build a marketing profile or personalize ads. Hosting may also process ordinary technical data (IP address, timestamps, user-agent, request path) in server logs for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
3. Optional Donate (PayPal)
If you choose Donate in the App, we open PayPal in your browser or the PayPal app. Payment details are handled by PayPal, not by GraceVerse. See PayPal’s privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment card details through the App.
4. Device Permissions
The current App is designed to work without camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location access. Home-screen widgets (where available) read the locally cached daily verse on your device. If a future version requests additional permissions, we will update this policy and the store listing.
5. What We Do Not Collect
In the current version of the App, we do not:
- Require you to create an account or provide an email to use core features
- Sell your personal information
- Show third-party advertising in the App
- Use advertising SDKs to track you across other apps
- Collect precise location data
- Access your contacts, calendar, SMS, camera, or microphone
6. Children’s Privacy
GraceVerse offers Scripture content suitable for a general audience but is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) as a children’s product. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for accounts (we do not offer accounts). Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local storage.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
On your device: local cache, bookmarks, and preferences remain until you clear them (where available), clear app storage in system settings, or uninstall the App.
On our servers: API requests are processed to return Scripture content. We do not maintain a per-user content library tied to your identity. Technical logs are retained only as reasonably needed for security and operations.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate to a mobile app and HTTPS API, including:
- Transport encryption (HTTPS) between the App and the GraceVerse API
- Keeping local app data in the app’s private sandbox on your device
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure.
9. International Users
Our API and hosting may be located in countries different from where you live. By using the App, you understand that request data may be processed in those locations under this policy and applicable law.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information. Because GraceVerse does not require an account, you can exercise many rights by managing local data on your device or uninstalling the App. For questions about server logs or this policy, email: altairserver@gmail.com
11. Scripture Content Notice
Verse and chapter text shown in the App is drawn from the Catholic Public Domain Version (CPDV) and curated selections we maintain. Chapter numbering follows CPDV / Vulgate conventions. This is content delivery, not collection of your personal writings.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at the same URL and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
